I first fell in love with dogs as a child but was never allowed to have one. Instead I would seek out all friends and family who had dogs and spend hours playing with them. My first dog came as a young adult in the form of a very bouncy, floppy eared Weimaraner named Henry.
I owe this dog everything as I wouldn’t be where I am today without him. I am extremely lucky to still have him in my life at the grand old age of 12.5yrs. Henry and I faced many challenges together in the early days but I was determined not to give up. I started to take him to training, read extensively about positive reinforcement methods and attended various courses, workshops and seminars. It was in 2009, Gavin worked in the substance misuse field for a number of years I decided to take the plunge and take my career in a completely new direction. So, I completed my Advanced Diploma in Companion Animal Training and Behaviour with COAPE and Canine Connection was born.
